On Thursday 7 July, Steve Dimopoulos MP, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, announced a $3.5 million contribution towards the redevelopment of Thomas Marr and Walter Moore Reserves, as part of Murridindi Council’s ‘Eildon Splash and Skate Park’ project.
Murrindindi Shire first started talking with the Eildon community about the future of Thomas Marr and Walter Moore Reserves back in 2019. Then in 2020, following the second round of community consultation, Council adopted an Improvement Plan for the precinct.
Since then, Murrindindi Shire has been busy working with landscape architects, JF Studio, to develop the concept design for the precinct, known as ‘Eildon Splash and Skate Park’ alongside local representatives from the Taungurung Land and Waters Council, Baan Ganalina Water Group, Eildon Primary School students and other key stakeholders.
The concept design shows what the Eildon Splash and Skate Park could look like and how each of the spaces could be used.
The $3.5 million grant is from the Victorian Government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund.
