Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 31-year-old Corio man with manslaughter following the death of a 48-year-old Norlane man after an earlier incident in Corio on Monday 20 June.
He will appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court later today.
The charges follow an incident where police were called to a business on Corangamite Drive after reports of an altercation between two men around 5am on Monday 20 June.
Police allege the 31-year-old man from Corio, a nearby resident, confronted a man breaking into the shop and an altercation between the two occurred.
The Norlane man was initially taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died on 23 June.
