$9k stolen using skimmed credit cards

Stonnington CIU detectives seeking public assistance as they investigate the theft of almost $9,000 in cash using skimmed credit cards.

A man attended twelve ATMs across Melbourne using details from previously skimmed cards to withdraw money from the bank accounts of potentially unknowing victims between December last year and March this year.

The reported incidents occurred at ATMs in Toorak, South Yarra, Box Hill, Richmond, Springvale, Fairfield and Melbourne’s CBD, with a total of $8,790 withdrawn.

The victims reported unauthorised cash withdrawals and told police they do not know when or how their bank cards were compromised.

Detectives from Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit are seeking assistance from the public as they investigate the theft of almost $9,000 in cash using skimmed credit cards.
