Bandits bungle break in to Reservoir bank

Detectives are appealing for information following a bungled burglary at a Spring Street, Reservoir bank on Sunday 31 July around 9.45pm.

Detectives are appealing for information following a bungled burglary at a Spring Street, Reservoir bank on Sunday 31 July around 9.45pm.

Police responded to the break-in following the activation of the security system, where two men allegedly forced their way into the bank and attempted to gain access to the automatic teller machine before they were disturbed by the audible alarm and fled the scene empty handed.

It is believed the pair attended the address for reconnaissance on a number of occasions in the preceding 24 hours in preparation for their failed heist.

The first man is described as 40 to 55 years of age, Caucasian, of medium height, with a solid build and round face. He was dressed in a hoodie and tracksuit.

The second man is described as being of similar age, Caucasian, tall with leaner features. He was also dressed in a hoodie and tracksuit.

Anyone with information about the burglary or who may be able to identify the men involved in urged to police.
