Drink driver nabbed at .257 BAC in Fitzroy North

A 40-year-old Sunbury man was caught allegedly drink-driving five times over the legal limit after reports of an erratic driver in Fitzroy North overnight.

A 40-year-old Sunbury man was caught allegedly drink-driving five times over the legal limit after reports of an erratic driver in Fitzroy North overnight.

Richmond police were called following reports of an erratic driver in the Fitzroy North area when they intercepted a grey Toyota Kluger on St Georges Road about midnight.

The driver was taken to a police station where he returned a reading of .257% BAC.

His car was immediately impounded and his licence was suspended for 12 months. He is expected to be charged on summons with drink-driving and other traffic-related offences.
