Homicide Squad continue investigating St Albans death

One of two men arrested following the death of a 49-year-old St Albans man in Emily Street, St Albans about 11.45pm on Wednesday evening has been released without charge. 

One of two men arrested following the death of a 49-year-old St Albans man in Emily Street, St Albans about 11.45pm on Wednesday evening has been released without charge.

The other man, a 33-year-old from Meadow Heights remains in police custody and is expected to be interviewed further by Homicide Squad detectives this morning.

The pair were arrested and detained on Thursday after the injured man was found on an Emily Street nature strip.

Attending police provided first aid to the man before ambulance paramedics arrived.

The 49-year-old St Albans man sadly died at the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.

Police believe the parties involved were known to one another.
