Triple zero call takers recieved a call for a reported house fire in Dalgety St, Preston just after midnight.
Up to 30 firefighters were on scene within 2 minutes and were confronted with the house fully alight.
Wearing breathing apparatus crews conducted an internal search while also attacking the fire. Thankfully, nobody was found inside.
The fire was deemed under control at 19 past midnight, 15 minutes after arrival.
Whilst the cause of the fire was orginally beleived to be an unattended hairstraightner, fire investigators later deemed the fire suspicious. When safe, the scene will be handed over to police investigators.
