Tasers, knuckle dusters and drugs seized after police ramp car in Wantirna

Knox police last night arrested two men after they found weapons, drugs and a firearm after conducting a vehicle search in Barmah Drive, Wantirna about 1.30am.

Knox police last night arrested two men after they found weapons, drugs and a firearm after conducting a vehicle search in Barmah Drive, Wantirna about 1.30am.

Officers spotted the car stationary in the middle of Barmah Drive with five men on board around 1.30am.

The car was intercepted before a search of the vehicle uncovered a quantity of alleged drugs, two conducted energy devices, knuckle dusters and a firearm.

A 17-year-old from Warrandyte was arrested at the scene and has been charged with possessing the firearm and handle stolen goods.

He will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 21-year-old from Box Hill was arrested and has been charged with possess drug of dependence.

He has been bailed to appear before at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 2 December.

A 20-year-old Blackburn South man was located with a taser and knife. He is expected to be charged on summons at a later date.

It is believed the firearm was stolen during an aggravated burglary in Harkaway.
