YARRA RANGES, VIC. — Children’s Week is a national celebration recognising the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children. Held each year in October, it’s a chance to celebrate children and the important role they play in our families and in the community.
In 2026, Children’s Week will run from Saturday, October 24 to Sunday, November 1. This year’s theme is ‘Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion’. The theme recognises the importance of children being able to express themselves and celebrate their culture and identity.
Each year, Yarra Ranges Council is proud to support Children’s Week and the many children and families who live in our community.
Throughout the year, we provide a range of programs, services, and opportunities that help children learn, connect, grow, and thrive, from early years and kindergarten services to family support, community programs, and activities.
This year, there will also be plenty of opportunities to celebrate Children’s Week across the Yarra Ranges, with activities and events for children and families happening throughout the week.
Explore the Yarra Ranges Shire website to see what’s happening for Children’s Week.
You can also find information about school holiday activities, preschool and kindergarten, programs and services for families, resources for professionals and much more.
