Banyule-Nillumbik Crime Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate an arson and criminal damage incident at Lovitt Technologies in Greensborough on Saturday, July 5.

It is understood five unknown people attended Lovitt Technologies (formerly known as Lovitt Tools) at 207 Para Road, Greensborough about 3.55am.

The offenders gained entry to Lovitt Technologies before setting fire to three cars.

The group also used red spray paint to write various slogans on the cars and a building wall.

One of the vehicles was destroyed, while the other two sustained moderate damage.

Detectives believe the group left Lovitt via a back fence and were last seen travelling in a south-westerly direction along the Plenty River Trail on e-bikes.

Local detectives are investigating the incident, with the support of specialists from the Crime Command Arson and Explosives Squad.

While investigators continue to liaise with the Counter Terrorism Command to establish if there are any connections to the arson at the synagogue in East Melbourne and a public order incident on Hardware Lane, at present, no links have been identified.
