Police are currently on the scene investigating a fatal house fire in Maryborough at about 11:45am. 

Firefighters were called to reports of a house fire on Barr Street, Maryborough.

The fire was contained to the single-storey house.

A male occupant, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

Two women, in their 30s and 60s, along with a 3-year-old child were treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

A 2-year-old child was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been established. An arson chemist will attend the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.
