Imitation firearms, police uniform located at Huntly property

HUNTLY, VIC. — Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives have charged a man after they located over a dozen gel blasters, along with Victoria Police uniforms and equipment, during a search warrant in Huntly yesterday morning.

HUNTLY, VIC. — Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives have charged a man after they located over a dozen gel blasters, along with Victoria Police uniforms and equipment, during a search warrant in Huntly yesterday morning.

Detectives executed the search warrant at the property on Daisy Street in relation to an ongoing investigation just before 7am.

Investigators seized an array of items, including:

  • 15 imitation firearms;
  • Victoria Police uniforms;
  • extendable batons;
  • handcuffs and
  • fraudulent police certificates.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the premises and taken into custody to be interviewed.

The man was later charged with fifteen counts of possessing an imitation firearm, two counts of possessing prohibited weapons and being an unauthorised possession of Victoria Police equipment.

He was bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on October 2.
