Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man with murder after the body of a man was located at a residence in Alfredton on Tuesday.
Police were called to the residence on Wensleydale Drive following reports of a disturbance and located a deceased 70-year-old man just before 9am on Monday, May 19.
A 32-year-old man from Gordon was arrested at the scene. He was remanded in custody overnight and was charged Tuesday morning with one count of murder.
He appeared before the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon.
At this stage, police do not believe the parties were known to each other.
