MILDURA, VIC. — Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following a series of offences in the Mildura area over the past week.

A 28-year-old man and a 23-year-old Mildura woman were arrested in Red Cliffs without incident about 1.30pm yesterday.

They were located in the backyard of a residential address on Buloke Street after several members of the public called triple zero (000).

The arrests follow a series of incidents in the Mildura area dating back to Thursday, May 28, which detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating.

This includes an alleged armed robbery and non-fatal shooting on Hawthorne Grove in Mildura on May 28, an assault at a business on Indi Avenue in Red Cliffs on Tuesday, June 2, and a cross-border pursuit which ended in the Trentham Cliffs area this morning.

Over the past week, significant searches of the area have taken place, involving detectives from the Armed Crime Squad and Mildura Crime Investigation Unit, local Mildura police, and the Special Operations Group, with support from NSW Police.

A 28-year-old Cardross man has been charged with multiple offences including aggravated burglary, reckless conduct endangering life, home invasion, prohibited person possessing a firearm and theft of a motor vehicle.

He has been remanded to appear at Mildura Magistrates’ Court today.

The Mildura woman was released without charge.

A third person, a 28-year-old Mildura man arrested last night in relation to the assault in Red Cliffs, remains in hospital under police guard.
