MELBOURNE, VIC. — Detectives are appealing for public assistance after over $300,000 worth of scrap metal was stolen in three incidents earlier this year.

MELBOURNE, VIC. — Detectives are appealing for public assistance after over $300,000 worth of scrap metal was stolen in three incidents earlier this year.

Investigators have been told two/three men attended a business on Maria Street, Laverton North about 3am on April 27 in a flatbed truck.

Police will allege the trio/duo loaded scrap metal and copper worth $5,000 onto the vehicle before driving off.

Police believe the same group attended a business on Vella Drive, Sunshine West about 3.15am on April 30.

Approximately $5,000 worth of copper cable was stolen and a flatbed truck was seen at the time of the theft.

On May 7, a depot on Holden Road, Plumpton, was broken into at about 3am.

Approximately $300,000 worth of copper and equipment was stolen.
