Crowbar used in business burglaries

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after a series of burglaries across Melbourne’s north-western suburbs earlier this year.

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after a series of burglaries across Melbourne’s north-western suburbs earlier this year.

It is believed two unknown males attended a dozen retailers and restaurants in Hoppers Crossing, Sunshine, Keilor Park, Deer Park, Sunshine and Melton between March and June 2025.

Investigators have been told on each occasion, the offenders used crowbars to force entry into the premises and stole cash tills and safes.

The series of premises targeted includes:

  • A restaurant on High Street in Melton, at about 4.20am on March 15;
  • A barber shop, a gambling venue and a pizza shop on Old Calder Highway in Keilor, about 3am on May 7;
  • A café on Old Geelong Road in Hoppers Crossing about 2.15am on May 8;
  • A pizza shop on Ballarat Road in Deer Park, about 2.30am on May 28;
  • A restaurant, pizza shop and hair salon on Gourlary Road in Caroline Springs, about 3.30am on May 28;
  • A delicatessen on Hampshire Road in Sunshine, about 2.15am on May 29;
  • A café on Alexandra Avenue in Hoppers Crossing, about 2am on June 1;
  • A dessert shop on Ballarat Road in Deer Park, about 3am on June 1.

The first male is described as Caucasian, in his mid-20s to late-30s, 180cm tall with a slim build. He was wearing dark coloured clothing and a North Face puffer jacket.

The second male is described as Caucasian, in his mid-20s to late-30s, 170cm tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a black hooded jumper, grey trackpants, a beige face covering and black runners.
