Detectives recover 300k in handbags, clothing and booze

DONCASTER, VIC. — Manningham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a burglary in Doncaster last year.

Detectives allege two offenders smashed the front door of a Clancys Lane residence about 10am on April 2, 2025.

Once inside, the offenders rummaged through the property, allegedly stealing handbags, jewellery and watches.

On Wednesday, July 1, detectives executed a search warrant at a property in Kings Park and arrested a 38-year-old man.

During a search of the property, officers seized:

  • 42 handbags from brands including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Coach, Christian Dior and Chloé;
  • Backpacks from Bao Bao and Gucci;
  • Designer watches by MZ, Citizen, Oris and Longines;
  • Gucci earrings, charms and cards;
  • A Chanel wallet and
  • Bottles of Hennessy Cognac and St Agnes Grand Reserve.

The Kings Park man was charged with burglary, theft, handling stolen goods and dealing with proceeds of crime.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court next Tuesday, July 7.

An investigation remains ongoing.
