ALTONA, VIC. — Police arrested three people on Friday in Melbourne’s western suburbs as part of an investigation into drug trafficking.
Detectives from the Illicit Firearms squad and Taskforce VIPER executed warrants at two business premises in Altona North and a residential property in Altona.
A 42-year-old Altona North man, a 51-year-old Altona North man, and a 40-year-old Altona woman were arrested and interviewed by police.
The 42-year-old man was charged with handling stolen goods, being a Firearm Prohibition Order holder failing to update their address within 24 hours and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on January 22, 2027.
The 51-year-old man has been charged with possessing a firearm contrary to a Firearm Prohibition Order, possessing a drug of dependence, handling stolen goods, being a Firearm Prohibition Order holder who failed to update their address within 24 hours, and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
He was remanded in custody to appear on November 23.
The woman was charged with possessing a drug of dependence, possessing a prohibited weapon, possessing an imitation firearm, and possessing proceeds of crime.
She has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on January 22, 2027.
Police also seized a range of items from the addresses, including drugs believed to be methylamphetamine, a firearm, an imitation firearm, knives, fraudulent identification, stolen number plates, a stolen drone, and a large quantity of cash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
