TEMPLESTOWE, VIC. — A large house in Templestowe was destroyed by fire on Monday evening after callers reported seeing flames issuing from the Church Road property at 5.57pm, with crews arriving on scene within three minutes.
All occupants had safely evacuated.
Upon arrival, crews found the top floor of the two-storey house was fully ablaze, with the fire extending into the roof.
FRV escalated the response to a second alarm, requesting additional fire trucks from the CFA and FRV and firefighters to assist attacking the fire.
The firefight was challenging due to water supply issues, with a water company attending the scene to increase supply.
Windy conditions also made the fire difficult to extinguish.
Crews worked together to bring the blaze under control at 8.30pm.
FRV’s fire investigators will investigate the cause of the fire.
