Firefighters battle Greensborough house fire

GREENSBOROUGH, VIC. — At 11.16pm on Thursday, April 30, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a house fire on Wombat Court, Greensborough.

GREENSBOROUGH, VIC. — At 11.16pm on Thursday, April 30, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a house fire on Wombat Court, Greensborough.

A family of four and their pets had evacuated the burning home.

The fire started in a bedroom before quickly spreading throughout the roof space of the single-storey, brick veneer home, causing severe damage.

A male occupant returned to attempt extinguishment, sustaining burns to both hands. He was transported to hospital by Ambulance Victoria.

Firefighters worked together to attack the blaze, bringing the incident under control at 11.43pm.

Alternative accommodation was sourced for the family.

Firefighters have deemed the cause of the fire as ‘accidental.’
