MELTON SOUTH, VIC. — Firefighters have saved a family dog from a house fire in Melton South on Wednesday morning.
Firefighters arrived just before 9am to find smoke issuing from a single-storey brick home.
FRV crews, assisted by CFA, entered the home and managed to contain the blaze to one room, bringing the incident under control 17 minutes after arrival.
Firefighters believe the blaze was caused by an e-bike battery.
One occupant was treated by Ambulance Victoria for non-life-threatening injuries.
A nearby primary school was evacuated as a precaution due to a large amount of smoke in the area.
