KURUNJANG, VIC. — Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash last night, where a driver was allegedly caught over the legal limit.

Emergency services were called to Dunvegan Road, where a car had crashed into a house about 10.40pm.

Luckily, no one was inside the property at the time of the incident when the car went through the front living room.

The driver, a 24-year-old man, returned a positive reading in a preliminary breath test at the scene.

He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

His license has been suspended, and he is expected to be charged with drink-driving offences.

“Police are reminding drivers that they should expect to be tested anywhere, anytime, knowing that if they run the risk, they will be caught,” a police spokesperson said.

“Officers are also conducting roadside alcohol and drug testing at every opportunity during Operation Roadwise, which runs throughout the festive period into January.”
