Man arrested after driving wrong way on Princes Freeway

LAVERTON NORTH, VIC. — A man has been arrested after he was caught driving in the wrong direction on the Princes Freeway overnight.

LAVERTON NORTH, VIC. — A man has been arrested after he was caught driving in the wrong direction on the Princes Freeway overnight.

Police received multiple reports of a dark-coloured hatchback driving outbound in the inbound lane on the Princes Freeway.

Officers spotted the car near the intersection of Kororoit Creek Road in Laverton North about 2.20am, Saturday, June 13.

They attempted to intercept the vehicle, but it took off at speed.

Police boxed in the hatch in Werribee, before it came to a stop near Duncans Road.

The driver, a 39-year-old Altona man, was arrested at the scene.

He was taken into custody for an interview.
