Homicide Squad detectives are investigating following the death of a man in the Fitzroy Gardens, East Melbourne about 6.50am.
It’s believed a man was involved in a physical altercation with another man in the gardens.
The man was treated at the scene, however, passed away shortly after.
A second man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.
At this time police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident and both men are yet to be identified.
The exact circumstances are yet to be determined and police would like to speak to anyone in the area who may have witnessed the incident.
