Detectives overnight charged a 36-year-old Chadstone woman and 35-year-old Seaford man following the death of a man in Chadstone earlier this week.
They have each been charged with one count of murder.
The charges follow an alleged incident at a property on Binalong Avenue, Chadstone earlier this week, where a man aged in his 40s was fatally assaulted.
A body of a man, yet to be formally identified, was located on Railway Parade in Chadstone on Friday afternoon following a search by police as part of the investigation.
The Chadstone woman and Seaford man have been remanded in custody and will appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
