Police find missing Balwyn man Peter Werner. Deceased

A man, who police have informed VicNews is missing Balwyn man, Mr Peter Werner, 53 has been found deceased on Tuesday afternoon.

A man, who police have informed VicNews is missing Balwyn man, Mr Peter Werner, 53 has been found deceased on Tuesday afternoon.

Police located a man, suspected to be Mr Werner, on Disraeli Street, Kew around 12.10 pm, Tuesday, May 7.

“The man is yet to be formally identified, but is believed to be missing Balwyn man, Peter [Werner],” police media liaison officer Belinda Batty, said.

We want to express our deepest condolences to the loved ones, friends and colleagues of one of our team members who recently passed away. Our thoughts are with our team members at Coles Summerhill who have been offered counselling at this difficult time,” a spokesperson for Coles said.

Mr Werner was a well-known employee of Coles Summerhill (Reservoir East) amongst Reservoir locals who appreciated Peter’s customer service and regular assistance.

Mr Werner did not show up for work after April 14.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

On Tuesday evening Coles Summerhill closed early as a mark of respect. Flowers and tributes can be left at the front cigarette/newspaper counter.
