ST ALBANS, VIC. — Police released a photofit image of a man they believe may be able to assist following an armed robbery on McKechnie Street, St Albans, at around midday on May 21.
Investigators have been told the victim was walking south along McKechnie Street towards Andrea Street when the offender approached him and demanded his bag.
When he refused, the offender produced a small kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the upper shoulder.
A physical struggle commenced between the offender and victim before the offender fled with some of the victim’s personal items to the total value of $1.70.
The 61-year-old victim, from St Albans, attended hospital where he received treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries.
The man is perceived to be of Asian appearance, about 170cm tall, aged between 30 and 40-years-old with a slim to medium build and dark coloured short hair.
He was wearing a thick black jacket, light coloured pants, black shoes with a white ‘Nike Swoosh’ on the side, carrying a black backpack with a small light-coloured object hanging in the centre and at the time was pulling a grey coloured pram loaded with items.
