Greensborough Highway Patrol officers are investigating following a collision in Preston this morning.
Police believe the allegedly stolen Toyota ran a red light and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of High Street and Bell Street on Friday, August 1, about 2.55am.
The Toyota subsequently hit a power pole.
The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota allegedly fled the scene but was located by officers nearby.
The 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be interviewed.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
The intersection of Bell Street and High Street, Preston, remains closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.
