RESERVOIR, VIC. — Armed Crime Squad detectives have this afternoon arrested and charged a 46-year-old Reservoir man following a non-fatal shooting in Reservoir last month.

With assistance from the Special Operations Group (SOG), a 46-year-old Reservoir man was taken into custody in Coburg North around 10.25 this morning.

He has been charged with being a prohibited person possessing a firearm, possessing a firearm subject to a Firearm Prohibition Order, committing an indictable offence whilst on bail, along with two counts of unlicensed driving and two counts of contravening a conduct condition of bail.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later this afternoon.

The charges follow an incident where a 48-year-old Reservoir man self-presented to a hospital in Heidelberg with a gunshot wound about 7pm on Monday, August 31.

Police will allege in court that several males had attended a factory in Reservoir earlier that day and a dispute occurred.

The 48-year-old man suffered a gunshot to one leg and a stab wound to the other.

He self-presented to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the incident was targeted and the parties were known to each other.

An investigation remains ongoing.
