Detectives have charged four youths following an alleged aggravated home invasion in Rosebud and a pursuit through multiple suburbs on Thursday morning.
A group of male offenders, allegedly armed with firearms and a knife, forced entry into a property on Bilbul Avenue in Rosebud about 2.50am.
Southern Metro Crime Squad detectives will allege they entered a bedroom, threatened the male and female occupant and forced them to hand over cash, before fleeing in a white Mercedes SUV.
The allegedly stolen Mercedes was spotted by police a short time later on the Peninsula Link near Moorooduc, but it sped off.
Details of the stolen vehicle were shared with all police units on the road, with officers urged to keep a lookout for the offenders.
The Mercedes arrived on Ballantyne Street in Thornbury about 5am, where the male occupants allegedly forced entry into a property. No one was inside at the time.
Operation Trinity units, the Air Wing and uniform officers followed the car through multiple suburbs, then onto the Monash Freeway.
Four males left the Mercedes on the Princes Freeway in Berwick and got into a waiting Mazda.
The Mazda then collided with the trailer of another vehicle as it attempted to drive off.
Six youths were arrested by Operation Trinity units at the scene and taken into custody.
Police allegedly located firearm components and ammunition in the possession of one of the males arrested.
Four machetes and a sword were allegedly located in the Mazda.
A 17-year-old boy from the Casey area was charged with aggravated home invasion, three counts of theft, theft of a motor vehicle, dealing in or with property suspected of being proceeds of crime and possession of a prohibited weapon.
He was directly presented for a remand hearing and remains in custody.
A 19-year-old man from the Casey area was charged with burglary, possession of cartridge ammunition, theft of a motor vehicle and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
He was remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on October 7.

A 20-year-old Aspendale man and a 21-year-old Beaconsfield man were both released and are expected to be charged on summons.
