Stabbings leave two men dead in Melbourne’s south-east

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two men in Clyde North in Melbourne’s south-east last night.

Police were called to a property on Observatory Street just after 9:30pm following reports of an altercation.

On police arrival, two men were located with wounds consistent with a stabbing.

Medical treatment was provided however both passed away at the scene.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said they had “wounds consistent with a stabbing.”

Both men are yet to be formally identified.

It is believed that a third male left the address before police arrived. A search is underway to locate that man.

A crime scene has been established while detectives investigate and speak to people present at the property.

“At this early stage in the investigation, it’s believed the people involved were known to each other,” a police spokesperson said.

He said detectives had spoken to other people who were at the home to establish the circumstances leading to the stabbings.
