RESERVOIR, VIC. — Police have arrested four people after a BMW was followed through Melbourne’s largest suburb and the surrounding area overnight.
Preston Uniform officers spotted the allegedly stolen silver BMW driving erratically on High Street in Reservoir just after 1am.
The car was followed through Reservoir and Thomastown, then it came to a stop on Edmondson Street in Lalor.
Police approached the BMW before the male driver allegedly drove towards officers, narrowly missing them as he took off at speed.
There were no physical injuries.
A short time later, the BMW was located by the Air Wing entering a driveway on Sturdee Street.
A white motorbike also pulled up outside the property.
Operation Trinity units, along with uniformed officers on the ground, closed in and arrested four men nearby, targeting car thieves across Melbourne.
They were all taken into custody, where they will be interviewed today.
The BMW was allegedly stolen from Fyffe Street in Thornbury on Tuesday, October 14.
