SUNSHINE NORTH, VIC. — Firefighters responded to a house fire at Ferndale Road in Sunshine North yesterday afternoon.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews arrived within five minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from the roof of a single-storey brick home.

Three occupants were able to evacuate safely and confirm all persons were accounted for.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the burning home and attacked the fire with multiple hoselines.

Crews also protected neighbouring homes that were under threat from the fire spreading.

Firefighters experienced problems in accessing the roof space to bring the fire under control.

The house sustained significant damage.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but will be investigated.
