Seven teenagers have been charged following an alleged pursuit and crash after speeding through roadworks on the Western Ring Road in Cairnlea in the early hours of Monday, June 19.
Police spotted a Toyota Prado speeding through roadworks on the Western Ring Road at about 1am as officers attempted to intercept the vehicle. It sped off on police.
The Prado was later involved in a collision with a Commodore at the Ballarat Road off-ramp.
The driver, a 19-year-old Wyndham Vale male, who ran from the collision, was arrested a short time later and has now been charged with multiple driving offences, including dangerous driving whilst pursued by police and breaching bail conditions.
