NARRE WARREN, VIC. — Police arrested three men following an aggravated burglary in Narre Warren North early this morning.
Police were called to reports of offenders trying to break into a property on Fontaine Terrace about 2.30am.
Police, responding quickly, arrived within two to three minutes, and with assistance from the Dog Squad, officers arrested a 37-year-old Narre Warren man.
He was transported to hospital after being bitten by the police dog.
A second man, a 23-year-old from Dandenong, was arrested shortly after at a neighbouring property.
A third man, a 45-year-old from Narre Warren, who was observed by the Air Wing hiding against the fence line, was arrested after surrendering to the sound of the approaching police dog.
The men are expected to be interviewed by detectives later today.
A knife, baton and drugs of dependence were seized by officers at the scene.
Dog Squad members also located a dumped backpack nearby.
The sole occupant of the residence was not confronted by the offenders and was not physically injured.
A crime scene has been established.
An investigation is ongoing.
