FAWKNER, VIC. — Police have arrested three people allegedly involved in an alcohol theft syndicate, responsible for over 80 alleged thefts from stores across the northern suburbs.
Officers from Fawkner’s Community Safety and Crime Prevention Team have been investigating the alleged thefts of alcohol from liquor stores, estimated to be in excess of $50,000 over the last few months.
Stores across Thomastown, Fawkner and Broadmeadows were allegedly targeted.
On Wednesday, December 17, officers attended a Donald Street, Dallas address and arrested the trio with the assistance of the Air Wing.
A 49-year-old man from Dallas, a 32-year-old woman from Meadow Heights and a 43-year-old woman from Broadmeadows were all arrested in relation to over 80 alleged thefts.
The man was charged with shoplifting and was remanded to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on January 9.
The Meadow Heights woman was charged with shoplifting and obtaining property by deception. She was bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on June 6, 2026.
The Broadmeadows woman is expected to be charged on summons with shoplifting.
Fawkner’s Community Safety and Crime Prevention Team are continuing to investigate the thefts.
Additional charges and arrests are expected.
