BRUNSWICK, VIC. — Fawkner Highway Patrol are investigating after two drivers involved in a collision were caught over the alcohol limit in Brunswick on Thursday night.

It is believed a Honda Accord and Volkswagen Tiguan were travelling in opposite directions on Albion Street when they collided head-on and into two parked vehicles about 10.45pm.

Officers conducted preliminary breath tests on both uninjured drivers, and both drivers allegedly returned positive results.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 36-year-old Brunswick West man, returned an alleged blood alcohol concentration of .199 per cent BAC.

The probationary driver of the Honda, a 19-year-old Yarraville man, returned an alleged blood alcohol concentration of .189 per cent BAC.

Both men are expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and traffic offences.
