SPRINGVALE, VIC. — Four youths have been arrested and interviewed after investigators were told that four youths, one allegedly wearing a balaclava, approached three teenage boys near a secondary college in Springvale at about 7.30pm on Monday, October 19.
Police understand an altercation occurred before the youths left the scene, as investigators continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, which members of the public attending a graduation at the college witnessed.
It is alleged that later that evening the offenders attended Yarraman Railway Station in Noble Park and attempted to rob a male of his headphones.
The victim fled the scene and contacted police.
Police, including the Air Wing, swarmed the area and located four alleged offenders in a Holden sedan.
They were arrested and a search located three large knives.
Detectives interviewed a 19-year-old Mount Waverley man, a 17-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys, all from Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
One of the 15-year-old boys has been charged with weapons offences and was bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
The remaining three youths were released pending further enquiries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
