Erratic driving and collision on Peninsula Link Freeway

BAXTER, VIC. — Police are investigating a collision in Baxter yesterday afternoon.

BAXTER, VIC. — Police are investigating a collision in Baxter yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to reports that a white Hyundai iLoad van and a grey 4WD collided on Peninsula Link Freeway outbound near Frankston-Flinders Road about 1.45pm.

It is alleged the driver of the van fled the scene to a nearby underpass where he was arrested.

The 35-year-old Frankston man was interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons.

Investigators are looking into reports the van was seen being driven erratically before the collision.

Officers have also been told the man was seen walking along the freeway behaving erratically and striking multiple vehicles following the collision.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who was travelling along the Peninsula Link Freeway at the time of the incident to check their dashcam and come forward.
