Homicide Squad detectives early this morning charged a woman following the death of a woman in Blackburn South yesterday.
Police were initially called to a property on Holroyd Court for a welfare check shortly after 11am.
A 78-year-old Blackburn South woman was located deceased inside the address with several stab wounds.
A 47-year-old Ringwood woman was arrested nearby a short time later.
She has subsequently been charged with murder and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
The parties involved are known to each other.
