The State Emergency Service thanked “26 amazing VICSES volunteers who turned out in 11 four-wheel drive vehicles to support police in a search operation for a missing person yesterday [August 7] at Kinglake.”

The search for the missing man commenced just before 8pm on Sunday evening, with SES Kinglake Unit volunteers turning out for four hours.

We were assisting VICPOL [police] to search the many 4WD tracks in and around the Kinglake area for a missing person and their vehicle,” Kinglake SES said in a Facebook post.

From Monday at 7.30am, SES volunteers – along with 14 members from Victoria Police and mounted officers – combed the difficult terrain for 12 hours until the missing person had been located.
