On July 26, 2005, at 14:39 UTC the Space Shuttle Discovery launched from pad 39B on mission STS-114 from Cape Canaveral. 

STS-114 was the first Return to Flight mission since the tragic loss of Columbia on February 1, 2003. Two and a half years were spent researching and implementing safety improvements.

Here are all the recordings taken by amateur ‘ham’ radio operator Ashley Geelan, VK3HAG.

Space Shuttles carried and the International Space Station currently has amateur radio on board.
