ORBOST, VIC. — Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives yesterday charged a teenager following a double fatal crash in Orbost in June.
A 15-year-old boy from the East Gippsland area was arrested yesterday morning.
He was charged with two counts of culpable driving, two counts of dangerous driving causing death, unregistered vehicle and unlicensed driving.
Police will allege three occupants inside a car crashed into a tree on the corner of Murphys Lane and Bonang-Orbost Road about 12.20am on Tuesday, June 10.
An 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy died at the scene.
A 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The teenager appeared at a children’s court yesterday.
