An 18-year-old Warrnambool man had a lucky escape after his vehicle drove off a cliff at Mount Buller last night, Friday, June 10.

The Warrnambool man was travelling along Mount Muller Road, Mirimbah when his Holden Trailblazer left the road and fell about 3 metres shortly before 11pm.

His vehicle came to rest on its side and was prevented from sliding further down the mountain after being stopped by trees.

With a combined effort from police, SES, CFA, Fire Rescue Victoria, Ambulance Victoria and a local towing company, the vehicle was secured and the driver was taken to safety.

He was checked over at the scene but was uninjured.
