Murrindindi Shire Council advises that Taggerty-Thornton Road (C515) is closed between Taggerty and Thornton due to emergency electricity powerline works southwest of Rubicon Road.
CFA and SES volunteers are on scene.
The area should be avoided. Motorists should seek an alternate route via the Maroondah Highway and/or Goulburn Valley Highway.
The closure of route C515 is likely to be in place for a few hours.
