150km/hr on the Monash

WHEELERS HILL, VIC. — A 19-year-old probationary driver was caught driving at an alleged speed of 156km/hr on the Monash Freeway in Wheelers Hill yesterday morning.

WHEELERS HILL, VIC. — A 19-year-old probationary driver was caught driving at an alleged speed of 156km/hr on the Monash Freeway in Wheelers Hill yesterday morning.

Nunawading Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a fast-moving Ford Falcon overtaking traffic outbound on the Monash about 1.30am.

Officers intercepted the Ford after it reached alleged speeds of up to 156km/hr.

The Berwick driver, a P-Plater for less than a year, is expected to be charged on summons for driving offences.

His licence was suspended on the spot, and the Ford was impounded for 30 days for $1046.80.
