ALBERT PARK, VIC. — Police have charged a man after an alleged police car ramming in Albert Park yesterday.

A 44-year-old Armadale man has been charged with over 20 charges, including:

Theft of a motor vehicle, recklessly exposing an emergency worker to risk by driving, damaging an emergency service vehicle, handling stolen goods, dealing property suspected of being proceeds of crime, multiple counts of possessing various drugs of dependence and numerous driving offences.

He appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court last night.

The incident occurred in Mills Street just before 5am, where the man was tasered before being arrested.

The car the man was in at the time was allegedly stolen from Spensley Street in Clifton Hill between 3 and 6 December. The registration plates were allegedly stolen from Rooney Street in Richmond on December 9.

No police officers were physically injured.

There was minor damage to one police vehicle.
