DOVETON, VIC. — Detectives from the Homicide Squad have this afternoon charged and arrested a 36-year-old Dandenong man following the fatal shooting of a man in Doveton last week, after he was arrested this morning by uniform members from Moorabbin for unrelated matters.

He was interviewed by detectives from the Homicide Squad and charged with murder and appeared at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court late this afternoon.

The charge follows an incident where emergency services were called to a property on Banksia Street, following reports that a man had been located unresponsive on 1 October about 11.30am.

A woman inside the residence performed first aid on the 27-year-old Doveton man, but sadly, he died at the scene.

Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.
