Detectives investigate non-fatal shooting

BROADMEADOWS, VIC. — Armed Crime Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a non-fatal shooting after police were called following reports that a 31-year-old man had sustained a gunshot wound on Central Avenue, Broadmeadows, at about 3.15pm yesterday.

BROADMEADOWS, VIC. — Armed Crime Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a non-fatal shooting after police were called following reports that a 31-year-old man had sustained a gunshot wound on Central Avenue, Broadmeadows, at about 3.15pm yesterday.

Detectives believe the 31-year-old man was involved in a verbal altercation with another man who was sitting inside a parked dark-coloured sedan.

Detectives were told the male driver of the sedan fired a shot at the victim.

The 31-year-old man was taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

The vehicle fled north along Central Avenue towards Stanhope Street.

Detectives believe the people involved are known to each other.

Investigations are ongoing.
