MULGRAVE, VIC. — Detectives from Taskforce Hawk have charged two people, including a 35-year-old CMFEU delegate and seized significant quantities of steroids as part of an investigation into alleged drug trafficking on construction sites across Melbourne.
Warrants were executed at properties in Mulgrave, Heathmont and Fitzroy from 5.45am on Thursday, September 3.
Police arrested a 35-year-old Mulgrave man, who is a CFMEU delegate, as well as a 32-year-old Fitzroy man and a 27-year-old Fitzroy woman.
The 35-year-old man was charged with trafficking anabolic steroids, possessing prescription drugs, possessing a drug of dependence, possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing a controlled weapon.
A 32-year-old Fitzroy man was charged with trafficking anabolic steroids, drug possession, dealing with the proceeds of crime and possessing a prohibited weapon.
Both were bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on January 19, 2027.
The 18-year-old Fitzroy woman was released on summons.
Police have also seized a range of items from the addresses, including a large quantity of steroids and peptides, drug paraphernalia, a large amount of cash, a quantity of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis, electronic devices, a taser, two extendable batons and OC spray.
Operation Hawk was established in July 2024 to specifically target criminal behaviour linked to the construction industry and transitioned to Taskforce Hawk in June 2025.
